Hi folks! This blog is more of a journal of things accomplished. There are several goals I have in this lifetime to accomplish and I thought it would be an interesting way for others to join me on my many journeys. Enjoy.

Land of vacations
So that didn't last too long. I quit my job so I'm back on vacation... I have a couple of interviews lined up this coming week.

I gots a job
Well, back to the land of the employed... that sure was a nice 3 month vacation. I think that's the longest vacation I've ever taken. I think I could get used to that too! Did you know that Americans get the least amount of vacation per year with only 2 weeks? I didn't know that. New Zealand and Australians get 8 weeks. Now that would be nice! Maybe people wouldn't be so grumpy either if they had more time off.
So I got this job as a pastry chef at a roadside diner. I start tomorrow. I'm kinda excited about it because it just opened about 6 or 7 weeks ago, so it's still fairly new. They have live bands play on Friday and Saturday nights. Right now, they only serve lunch. Well, they started serving dinner last week but it's the lunch menu. The chef is in the process of making a dinner menu and I will make the desserts. Pretty soon, breakfast and Saturday brunch will open up.
I'm looking forward to it since I get to come up with my own dessert menu. Once brunch is implemented, I will make the pastries too... what fun! The lunch menu is nothing fancy at all - hence roadside cafe and it's down home comfort foods, sandwiches and burgers. This places isn't what I was aiming for at all. I was going for the more fine dining aspect but to be given my own hours, menu and a bunch of leeway I think this will work out great.
